![]() A capable leader and skilled tactician, Raine is not afraid to make hard choices and ask hard questions. Like Eda, Raine values magical freedom and opposes Emperor Belos's methods of controlling magic by force under the Coven System.ĭespite their shyness, Raine's true self shines in their cause. Despite being the current Head Witch of the Bard Coven, Raine ironically suffers from stage fright and struggles with making public speeches, as seen in their Head Witch initiation ceremony. A ribbon depicting The Titan's skull, the bottom of which being reddish pink with maroon trim, can be seen on the left side of their cloak.Īt first glance, Raine is timid and easily flustered. They wear shoulder pads, a mint green cloak with dark green trim and notch lapels and laced brown dress shoes. They wear a pale gray tunic with pointed gold clasps, and baggy, high-waisted mahogany pants with an orange belt. In the epilogue of "Watching and Dreaming", they have salmon-pink rimmed glasses and wear earrings similar to Eda's gold ones. In " Hunting Palismen," they wore a white cloak over their head with the Bard sigil on the neck over their current outfit. In " Eda's Requiem," they are shown to be wearing an altered version of the BATs uniform: a long, black tunic with a maroon collar, gold trim, three gold buttons, a brown belt, crimson pants and black, knee-high boots. ![]() Raine wears large round glasses, a gray earring on their right ear, and a cloak similar to Hunter's. In the epilogue, their hair has turned fully white and is slightly shorter. Their hair has also grown longer and bushier. In " Watching and Dreaming", as a result of Belos's possession, they gained tear-esque scars running down their cheeks, as well as additional scarring on their lower right ear and right arm. They have darker mint green eyebrows, and green eyes. ![]() Raine is a middle-aged witch with medium brown skin and mint-green hair with white streaks near the bottom. However, Belos takes control of Raine's puppet form as a host to manipulate The Collector under the guise of Raine. Raine is later turned into a puppet by The Collector after the events of the Day of Unity, and is locked in the Archive House. When the Day of Unity finally arrives, Raine and the Coven Heads are forced to power the Draining Spell Raine ultimately severs Eda's sigil-branded arm to protect her from effects of the spell, before passing out along with the other depowered heads. Raine eventually re-recruits Eda and company into the new group, which they restructure into the Covens Against the Throne. Together with other mutual Coven Heads, they rebuild the rebel cell and recruit witches to save the Boiling Isles before the Day of Unity. In reality, Raine fakes the brainwashing to continue their investigation in secret. Raine is later released and resumes work under the emperor, supposedly now kept in line by brainwashing thanks to drinking tea tampered by Terra Snapdragon. However, when a run-in with the other Coven Heads results in the capture of BATs, Raine's cover was blown and they were placed in a magical stasis, but not before helping Eda escape from custody. ![]() After reuniting with Eda in their adulthood, Raine and Eda coordinated the BATs' efforts against Emperor Belos. Using their new position within the coven system, they planned to sabotage the system from the inside and stop the Day of Unity from happening. They founded a small rebel group known as the Bards Against the Throne, with the intention of liberating wild witches who don't want to be forced to join a coven. They are the Head Witch of the Bard Coven, and the partner of Eda Clawthorne. Raine Whispers is a supporting character in The Owl House.
